Fall is here in Syracuse (jk it’s going to be in the mid-80s the next three days) and it’s my favorite season. I love when the days get a little cooler and I personally think fall has the best activities. Here are a few of my favorite things this fall!
Apple Picking
This is a given, obviously. But we have the best place near Syracuse. Eating two too many apples while you’re picking is a must, along with buying way more than you possibly need. The orchard near me also has a distillery where you can do tastings of Honeycrisp vodka, sweet apple wines, gins, ciders, and more. On top of that, they have cider donuts, an eatery, and the cutest gift shop with cute fall stuff for around the house or to eat.
Style
I am quite honestly the furthest thing from a fashionista which is why I have to ask my sister very often for help with my outfits, but I love the fall vibe. Sweatshirts, sweaters, booties, and olive green things are a whole mood and I’m here for it. Fall means no more sweating before you even get to work in the morning because the humidity is at 90% before 9 am, so I’m perfectly okay with needing a jacket in the morning. My favorite is my olive green utility jacket from Old Navy, you can find a similar one here at Forever21. It’s super versatile and can be dressed up or down.
Pumpkin Sh*t
To be honest, I don’t care about ~Pumpkin Spice Lattes~ but I DO care about pumpkin flavored everything else. Pumpkin butter and cream cheese? Yes. Pumpkin rolls for dessert? Yeah. Pumpkin “pop tarts,” waffles, bagels, cookies, and more from Trader Joe’s? Hell yeah. Pumpkin Pie? Absolutely not, get out of here with that consistency, but that’s beside the fact – pumpkin shit is SO GOOD.
Holidays
Even though sometimes it’s snowing on Thanksgiving, I love the fall themes for these holidays. Pumpkins, leaves, and a million different items that say “thankful” or “blessed” (#blessed) on them fill store shelves come August. The dollar section at Target will absolutely be your best friend, I’m pretty sure my sister decorates her whole house with the cutest knick knacks from there! And Halloween tends to come and go pretty quickly, but if you stock up on sale candy it can last forever.
These are just a few of my favorite things about fall – kids and dogs in Halloween costumes, apple pie (specifically my mom’s), and bonfires also find themselves on my list. What are your fall favorites?!
