I’m thrilled that you’re here, so now that I have you, I’ll tell you a bit about myself. Born and raised in Syracuse, I’m the youngest of three – but the tallest (sorry Jeff). I like to think that I’m pretty simple. I like donuts, ice cream, Oreos, Netflix, and my couch. I don’t like small talk, repetition, and people who don’t use turn signals. Simple.
To be honest, I never thought I’d have a blog. I wrote an article as an open submission for The Odyssey Online, and coincidentally they temporarily took down the open submission link once I finished editing it. So I took that as a sign – either I shouldn’t be writing or I should make a blog so I have somewhere to write my heart out. Hopefully it’s the latter.
You’ll learn a lot about me from my about me page, but I’ll fill you in on some things that might come up regularly in the future.
I played basketball at a top ranked community college before I went to Le Moyne. I now coach two basketball teams and love doing it. I graduated with a communications degree concentrated in journalism with dual English minors. I love journalism. In college it allowed me to meet some really interesting people and hear some amazing stories. This brings me to a good point – you’ll probably find longer, more journalistic posts on this blog rather than quick, unfinished thought types of posts.
I’ve seen the same band in concert 40 times…which is more than most people see any and all bands combined. I’ve met the most amazing people along the way and have traveled to some of the coolest places alongside them. The best place I’ve ever been? Red Rocks in Colorado. I was front row to see my favorite band, but the best part of the night was turning around and looking up at the sea of people and the night sky. I can’t wait to go back this year. You can see me and my super long arms and legs in the photo below.
You’ll find out quickly that I’m obsessed with dogs. Meet mine – I’m a momma to the giant lap dog and an aunt to the little ones.
Jada – pit bull lab. Loves: empty water bottles, peppers, scrambled eggs, ripping stuffing out of toys, sleeping under the blankets, and running for hours outside.
Peanut – chihuahua beagle. Loves: heated blankets, clementines, begging for anything and everything that’s remotely edible, cuddles, his cousin Jada, and squirrels.
Pumpkin – miniature chihuahua dachshund. Loves: taking out 15 toys at a time, belly rubs, being a punk, standing on the kitchen table, heated blankets, and deer antlers.
That’s all I have for now! Stick around 🙂
Yah!! First post 🙂
